A night on the town with friends!

Our friends, Barrett and Lisa Hoggan, had tickets to see Nathan Burton. He's a magician and comedian. Although, I found his in between act named "Michael" to be much more hilarious than him. Lisa and I were crying, we were laughing so hard. I even had mascara smudged around my eyes afterward. Anyhow! We were standing in line at the Flamingo, when we ran into Marie Osmond at the door! Got a picture of Lisa with her. Cool, huh? We had a fun night!

First time roller skating! February 27, 2010

So the Affleck's were in town visiting and to entertain the girls we took them roller skating. This was a first for three of my girls: Lexi, Bella and Olivia. This was the second time this year that Mikaela had tried this new sport. The only other time she was on skates was when she was 10yrs old. Lexi didn't surprise me and picked it up really fast. She is very athletic and capable of any sport! Bella, on the other hand struggled with her balance. She has always had trouble with that, but her determination was very impressive and typical of her! She kept getting back up and try, try, trying again. Olivia skated cautiously around the rink hold the side. She is very careful! Mikaela had already figured it out from her previous time and kept up on an even pace. Lexi was just as good as Mikaela by the time we left. We had fun! Even crazy Marti got on a pair of skates...and pregnant no less! I tried to talk her out of it, but no dice!

Olivia's Ears Pierced! February 26, 2010

Our friends came to visit us in Las Vegas. Olivia had been begging me to pierce her ears and I thought we could do it with our friend, Zoey. We went to Claire's and the girls were so excited! I was a little worried when Zoey went first. I thought Olivia would see her reaction and back out. But to my surprise, Zoey was a brave little girl! Then it was Olivia's turn. She sat in the chair with a nervous half-smile and intently watched the lady prepare the earrings. And then...OUCH! She cried a little and wiped the tears to see the beautiful earrings sparkle in the mirror. Both girls left happy!

Valentine's Day February 14, 2010

Happy Valentine's day! I love this holiday. Get it...love it! I really do! I always have so much fun with my girls. We always make homemade valentine cards for each other and their class mates. I went to all the parties this year. I started at Bella's school at noon and moved on to Lexi and Olivia's school by 2pm. (I picked up Mikaela in the middle of that.) We made lots of treats. My kitchen was a mess and it was quite the bake fest prior to that afternoon. We made a ton of personalized sugar cookies and lots of bags of popcorn! YUM!

Bella's Baptism February 6, 2010

What a fabulous day! We had our family here in Las Vegas for Bella's baptism. Grandma and Grandpa came from California. Nini and Papa too! We had aunts and uncles, cousins...the whole family was here! Bella felt so special. The program was conducted by the stake and I signed a song while another mom whose daughter was being baptized with Bella sang. We were the last ward to assemble at the baptismal font. The spirit was so strong and Bella was so excited. There was something truly beautiful watching the baptism prayer being spoken by Michael and interpreted for Bella through sign language. It brought me to tears. She has such a strong, beautiful spirit that was radiating from her. You could tell she had such an enormous amount of love for her father and respect for the priesthood while he held her in the font's waters. All of her cousins sang a primary song and the spirit was so strong that Lexi became overwhelmed and couldn't finish the song through her tears and sobs. The next day on fast Sunday. My three oldest daughters bore their testimonies...starting with Bella. I couldn't have been more pleased than that day. I have always hoped that Michael and I could teach our children correct principles and lead them on a path that would be pleasing to our Heavenly Father. Looks like we might have started out right! What a great weekend that I will never forget.
