Saturday was also Lexi's first volleyball game. Her dad is coaching her. The girls played really well for their first game. Lexi had to play for the other team, though, because they didn't have enough players. She said later, "I wanted to play for my own team." Regardless the girls had fun. I can't say there was a lot of "volleying" going on, but they are learning the game and I'm sure will improve by the end of the season. Lexi does have height as an advantage. See in the picture, she is very tall! Her teammate to the right is a year younger but the one to the left is her same age. Hopefully she will enjoy the season and make more friends. The girls in the photo are in our ward at church and we joined the team together.

Bella's Walk A Thon
Bella's Walk A Thon was held on Saturday, April 24, 2010. We had a successful turnout for our first annual. I would like to see a bigger response from outside of the deaf community next year. We had a great time! Michael's co-workers from UPS came out and volunteered at the event. They were so friendly and supportive. We all got too much sun...especially me! Bella had a lot of fun being with her classmates at the park outside of school. Everyone loves her and always comments on her fabulous personality. What can I say? She is...just that...FABULOUS!

Mikaela's first soccer game!

April 10, 2010
Mikaela had her first soccer game today. I thought the team played well together. It is spring season in this league and they play on a small field with 6 players against 6 players. The girls were put in for minutes at a time. They run hard and then substitute out. It was fun to watch. Lexi took some pictures...Bella too. Olivia and Dad shared the only chair for a little while. Mikaela's team won! The name the league knows them by is the "Renegades." As co-team mom, we wanted to change the name but now I think we are stuck!
Easter 2010
This year we colored Easter eggs with friends. I will have to post pictures later because my camera didn't take good pictures in my garage. It was kinda dark. Anyway, the kids had fun with their friends and the eggs came out...well...colorful. Some were dipped several times and came out brown. The Easter bunny hid the eggs and the girls searched early (too early) Sunday morning for them. Bella was too excited and woke everyone up at 6:15 am...yawn!
Bako Holladays Visit

Christian had a soccer tournament here in Las Vegas. Stephanie and the kids came out and stayed with her sister. We met them at the soccer fields early Saturday morning for Christian's first game and then again a little later for his second game. We had lunch together too! The kids have so much fun together. Stephanie's parents were at the games with their new puppies. Sadly I think we have more pictures of the puppies than our cousins. A few of the star soccer player, one of Elyse and Olivia, and none of poor little Grant. But we did have fun with these Holladays!
Muffins with Moms
At Lexi and Olivia's school, the PTA has a morning snack time for the parents once a quarter. It's a thank you to the parents and a special time for the students to invite mom/dad to school. This time it was called, "Muffins with Mom." It was also spirit week and Pajama Day. So the girls and I ate our muffins in our PJ's and had a good time.

Olivia & Julie

We spent two days back to back with our friends. We went to the roller rink one day and spent a good portion of our time telling the kids to "GO SKATE!" All they really wanted to do was hang out with each other. I don't think it really matter that we were at the skating rink. Although, I think my girls are getting better on their wheels! Bella & Olivia really enjoyed themselves. Lexi made a new friend in Madison Scofield. Lexi, Madison and Caitlin spent alot of time together and really became quite the team of 10yr olds. Mikaela, Brittney and the twins (Josh & Jeremy) were just being "teenagers."
The next day we went to Rainbow Park near Bella's school. This is where we are doing the walk a thon for her school. We were measuring the park and enjoyed a picnic. The kids all found something to do on the park. They jumped off swings...Lexi got some serious air. They played in the sand...one of the twins was buried alive! I guess your never too old for the park!

Vegas Weekend With the Girls!

Oh my gosh! What a fabulous weekend! It was Brenda's birthday weekend and she, Linda, and Deanne decided to come out to Vegas! I have not laughed so hard in a long time. These are my girls. Not only are we related but we grew up together. Then we roomed in college together. We have such a history and it was so much fun being together again! I told them they were so lucky to have this "family" thing around them all the time! I really have to admit that I miss them tremedously. We stayed at the TRUMP, ate the buffet at Treasure Island, hit the outlets, and spent late nights laughing and not so early mornings chatting. Except Brenda who woke up at noon because she took a Tylenol PM...duh! This was a much need mini vacation! We had fun.
Texas Grahams passing through Vegas March 2010

We really love living in Las Vegas. It really allows us to see people we wouldn't normally get a chance to see all the time! Ronalee and the kids were in Page, AZ visiting her mom and dad. They need to fly out of Vegas to get back to Dallas so we were able to spend an evening and most the next day with them before they departed. The cousins only get to see each other once a year in the summer if we are lucky! So what a treat to get to visit in the middle of March! It's so funny to watch these cousins interact. I love that they jump right in and act as if no time has passed since the last time they saw each other. They are definitely kindred spirits!
